In the early years, my husband, myself and our dog, Doppler would camp at a beautiful state park called Kent Park. It was a tradition to camp there each Memorial Day weekend. While there we hiked, fished and explored the many trails and corners of the park. There are many beautiful parts of the park, but one of favorite areas is a place off the driving path. The hills cross each other, creating waves of green alternating from left to right until it transitions to what seems like always beautiful blue skies. In the vast overlapping layers of hills, stands a lone tree. A tree that looks as if it has stories to tell. A tree that stands strong and protective of someone who takes shelter under it. The day that I caught this particular image, the shadows stretched long across the hill, creating a stripe of deep darkness in stark contrast to the sun bleached grass.
The original acrylic painting is sold. Prints are available in my Etsy shop.
